يعتبر ديوان ابي الحسن الششتري بما إشتمل عليه من أشعار موزونة مقفاة وموشحات وأزجال، ثمرة من ثمار تجربته الغنية بالدلالات والمواقف الروحية الصادقة. فهو إن كان أفصح عن تجربته تلك بوسائل تعبيرية متعددة ومنها لغة النثر وإنشاء المقال، إلا أنه كان أكثر إنتاجاً وأعمق تعبيراً عندما إعتمد طريقة الشعر الصوفي، بإعتباره أهم وسيلة لنل الخبرة الباطنية المستعصية على اصناف التعبير الأخرى، يعتبر ديوان ابي الحسن الششتري بما إشتمل عليه من أشعار موزونة مقفاة وموشحات وأزجال، ثمرة من ثمار تجربته الغنية بالدلالات والمواقف الروحية الصادقة. فهو إن كان أفصح عن تجربته تلك بوسائل تعبيرية متعددة ومنها لغة النثر وإنشاء المقال، إلا أنه كان أكثر إنتاجاً وأعمق تعبيراً عندما إعتمد طريقة الشعر الصوفي، بإعتباره أهم وسيلة لنل الخبرة الباطنية المستعصية على اصناف التعبير الأخرى، واختزالها في عبارات صادقة تعكس المواجد التي عاشها، والحالات التي تعاقبت عليه والمقامات التي ارتقاها بمجاهداتهة ورياضاتها وعباداتها.
