تشكل سيرة أهل بيت النبوة أهمية كبيرة للإنسيان المسلم بما فيها من فكر ومنهج وعقيدة على مر الأجيال، وكمسلم التزم خط أهل البيت وراثة ومعرفة قدم الدكتور "حسن عباس نصر الله" كتابه بخطاب يقول فيه "... إنما أردت قراءة ناقدة، ومستفسرة لبعض الأخبار التاريخية، مع إشارات لبعض المتقدات الكهانيّة .. أطرح أسئلة، ضاع من عندهم الجواب ..." من هنا جاء هذا الكتاب بمثابة إستحضار تاريخي لأفعال وأقوال ويوميات أهل بيت النبوة والتي تتجلى عبرها أخلاقهم الحميدة وهم يرسمون نهضة الإسلام بأبهى تجلياتها. توزع الكتاب على خمسة عشر فصلاً: الأول دلالات معرفية. وهو إضاءة على ما سماه الكاتب "الدين الكهاني" المتأتي من عادات وتقاليد وتعصبات ليست من الدين لكنها بالعادة صارت مقدسة، إضافة إلى حديثه عن الإمامة والخلافة والعلمة والشورى والغنائم والمرأة وأهل البيت والصّحبة ... أما باقي الفصول فتوزعت على أربعة عشر معصوماً: نبي، وإبنته سيدة نساء العالمين، ووحي، وأبنائه المعصومين رضوان الله عليهم أجمعين.
