وقائع الندوة التي عقدتها "دائرة التراث العربي والإسلامي في المجمع العلمي العراقي". جاء في مقدمة الكتاب: "يمثل الوطن العربي الذي نعيش على أرضه في الوقت الحاضر حصيلة تاريخ طويل من التفاعل بين الإنسان العربي وبيئته الجغرافية التي عاش في كنفها منذ أزمان مختلفة، بحسب القرب أو البعد عن الوطن الأول الذي ظهر فيه العرب منذ آلاف السنين، وكان هذا الوطن حسب ما يترجح في الأبحاث العلمية هو شبه جزيرة العرب". شارك في هذا الكتاب مجموعة من الباحثين المختصين. وهو موزع على ثلاثة عشر فصلاً تركزت حول مختلف الموضوعات التي تعالج أصول وفروع القبائل والأقوام التي عاشت في هذه المنطقة وتنقلت فيها. ان الأبحاث المنشورة في الكتاب تناولت مجموعة من العناوين منها: "الأقوام الجزرية العربية في بلاد الرافدين" و"الكنعانيون من الأقوام العربية القديمة" و"انتشار العرب في مصر وشرق أفريقيا قبل الإسلام" و"انتشار قبيلة عبد القيس قبل الإسلام إلى نهاية القرن الأول الهجري" و "الهلاليون في المغرب...". و"قبائل هلال وجشم والمعقل في المغربين الأوسط والأقصى" و"بيوت العرب في الأندلس ودورها في التعريب" وغيرها من المواضيع ذات الصلة، وهو لذلك كتاب شيق من الناحية التاريخية يلقي الضوء على الكثير من النقاط المهمة في التاريخ العربي والهوية العربية التي كثيراً ما تعرضت لمحاولات الطمس والتشويه.
