تعدد الزوجات: كتاب جديد يأتي ضمن سلسلة فريدة تتعرض لمناقشة أهم القضايا الاجتماعية المعاصرة، و ذكر حكم الشرع فيها. افتتح المؤلف كتابه بمقدمة ذكر فيها الطعن الدائم الذي يتعرض له الإسلام، ونبي الإسلام صلى الله عليه وسلم بسبب هذه القضية، وما يرمونه به من اتهامات لا يليق ذكرها في هذا المقام. ثم قام بذكر الأدلة الشرعية الصريحة في إباحة التعدد، وبين أن الإسلام لم يكن أول من أباحه، فقد كان موجوداً قبل ذلك في الأمم السابقة، وكذا عند الشعوب الأوربية، حتى بعد عصر النهضة، ولكن الإسلام ضبط هذا التعدد ضمن أنظمة وقوانين تحقق الأمن والاستقرار للمجتمع دون فوضى أو عبث. فقد جاءت إباحة التعدد في الإسلام حكماً وسطاً بين الإباحية، والانحلال الأخلاقي من جهة، وبين الرهبانية ـ التي حرَّمت الزواج أصلاً ـ من جهة أخرى. ثم عقب بأن التعدد في الإسلام يأتي لحل كثير من المشاكل الاجتماعية؛ كارتفاع نسبة العنوسة بسبب زيادة أعداد النساء، ولجم كباح العلاقات غير الشرعية لدى الجنسين التي تكون في غالب الأحيان بسبب الحرمان، وهي تقلل من أعداد الأرامل، والأيتام، والمطلقات، والعوانس الذين يكونون عبئاً ـ في غالب الأحيان ـ على مجتمعاتهم. ثم ختم بالنتائج الاجتماعية الخطيرة المترتبة على تحريم ما أحله الله ـ تعالى ـ لعباده من التعدد. يُنصح به: كلُّ رجل وامرأة يسعيان لكي لا يبقى في مجتمعنا مطلقة، أو أرملة، أو عانس، ويسعيان للقضاء على الفساد من كافة جوانبه.
