كتاب يضم باقة من المقالات والبحوث، أهداها أصدقاء المؤرخ اليمني، الأستاذ الدكتور حسين عبد الله العمري، إليه. بمناسبة احتفال دار الفكر بتكريمه لعام 2005. بدأ الكتاب - الذي ينقسم إلى ثلاثة أقسامٍ - بنبذةٍ عن المكرم ومسرد بكتبه والتعريف بشخصيته وبعرض بعض مؤلفاته. واستحوذ القسم الأكبر من الكتاب - وهو الأخير - على بحوث علمية هامة، تنوعت بين الحديث الشريف والآثار والسياسة والاجتماع والتراث والتراجم والسير والرحلات. في حين توفر القسم الأكبر منها على التاريج، وخصوصاً ما يتصل باليمن قديمها وحديثها. والملاحظ على البحوث - التي جاوزت العشرين - مع تنوعها في المواضيع أنها تنوعت كذبك بالبلاد التي جاءت منها، كانت من الإمارات العربية وتونس ومصر والمغرب والأردن وإنكلترة، بالإضافة إلى سورية فاليمن المكرم. كما امتازت البحوث بأسماء كاتبيها اللامعين المعروفين على امتداد الوطن العربي. تتصف البحوث بالعمق والجدة والعلمية والدقة.
