يحاول الروائي "فؤاد سليمان" من فلسطين في هذه الرواية أن يبحث عن معنى الصداقة الحقيقية الصادقة بين الناس، يتكلَّ فيها على مقاربة تربوية - نفسية تأخذ منحىً حوارياً بين بطل الرواية مسعود وأصدقائه والطبيبة النفسية التي تشرف على حالة بطل الرواية. وهكذا بإسلوب شفاف وبرغبة في دخول كواليس النفس البشرية وما يعتريها من حالات وإنفعالات وأوضاع حياتية متبدلة ومتغيرة، يحكي الروائي تجربة مجموعة من الأصدقاء فينقل لنا حواراتهم ومفاهيمهم لمعنى الصداقة وهل هي واقع حقيقي أم زيف يحكم علاقات البشر بين بعضهم البعض يجمّلونه بمعنى الصداقه. ولأجل ذلك عنون فؤاد سليمان روايته بــ "واقع مأجور"، فما هو الواقع الذي يريد أن ينقله لنا؟. -تحمل هذه الرواية بين طياتها الكثير من التأملات النفسية وأسئلة إنسانية شفافة تلامس جانباً خفياً في تكوين شخصية أبطالها، تقول إيلان الإخصائية النفسية محاورة مسعود: -"إذاً، لماذا تعتقد أنه لم يكن لديك أبداً صديق حقيقي؟"، تمهل مسعود للحظة ومن ثم قال: "كل صديق كان يريد شيئاً ما مني، كلهم كانوا كذلك"، "مثل ماذا؟"، "أمور مثل تسلية، مساعدة، الذهاب إلى أماكن، صديق للشرق.. إلخ". -"وما الذي يفترض بالصداقة الحقيقية أن تحويه، حسب رأيك، ولم تجده في صداقاتك؟"، "شيء يتعدى المصلحة، شيء طاهر، وروحاني"، فهل يستطيع مسعود أن يجد ضالته في هذا الصديق الروحاني في هذا العالم المليء بالتناقضات والصراعات والمصالح؟. -سوف تخبرنا هذه الرواية عن الكثير من المعاني السامية حين نبحر في قراءتها نبحث عن صديق.
