Book Description
قصة من وحي الكاتب، تدور أحداثها في شمال غرب إنجلترا، بالقرب من مقاطعة البحيرات في الفترة من العام 1191 للميلاد، بين شاب من عامة الشعب يلتقي بأميرة من البلاط الملكي الإنجليزي، وفي ظروف غامضة تولد بينهم علاقة حب من غير أن يعرف هويتها. تتجلى الصفات النبيلة للشاب البسيط حتى تتعلق به الأميرة بعلاقة رومانسية راقية، تظهر فيها أخلاق هذا الفارس الذي أنقذها من بطش المرتزقة الذين أغاروا على مملكتها واغتالوا والدها (الملك). تركز الرواية على إبراز الأخلاق النبيلة وتصوير الحالة العاطفية بين الرجل والمرأة خصوصا في ظروف غير متكافئة بين الطرفين، وكيف يتغلب الحب على الموازين الاجتماعية والأعراف السائدة. بالرغم من أن أحداث القصة التي تدور في إنجلترا استلهمها الكاتب من وحي خياله، إلا أنه أسقط العديد من أحداثها على واقعنا الشرقي، في محاولة للهروب من الحدود والعوائق التي تقيد العلاقة العاطفية بين الرجل والمرأة في المجتمع الشرقي بأسلوب حداثي يتماشى مع العادات والقيم. يتخلل القصة العديد من المواقف الرومانسية والتعابير الرقيقة والتي ترسم البهجة على الحبيب، وتصوير بعض المشاهد بين الحبيب والمحب في صورة رفيعة تدفع بدوام المشاعر.(less)
