هذه الرواية فريدة من نوعها من عدة وجوه، أولاً: كون كاتبها ابن الجولان يعيش في حيفا، وبما أن النص يستلهم مادته من التجربة المعيشة، إلى حد ما، فلا بد وأن ينعكس هذا الوضع الاستثنائي والحرج على طبيعة النص.
ثانياً: التجربة التي يستوحيها النص مادة له تشير إلى خلفية تاريخية اجتماعية دون أن تقترب منها أو أن تنخرط فيها ليصبح النص آلة عاكسة لتلك الخلفية.
ثالثاً: كثيراً ما تتراوح "أحداث" هذه الرواية بين الحلم والشعر، وإن نحا الحلم والشعر، وإن نحا الحلم في كثير من الأحيان باتجاه الكابوس، والشعر باتجاه استقراء البون المتزايدة بين شظايا الذات المبعثرة.
بطبيعته، يثير هذا البحث أسئلة أكثر مما يقدم أجوبة وهو، لهذا عمل أدبي من الدرجة الأولى ويثبت موهبة وقدرة حقيقية على استنباط المعاني والمشاهد والصور، وهذه هي المرتكزات الرئيسية لفن الرواية.
