الأولى: إن طرفى الحوار: الأستاذ "محمد حسنين هيكل" والأستاذ "مفيد فوزى" لا يقفان على أرضية فكرية واحدة، فتقييمهما لثورة 23 يوليو قد يصل فى درجة التباين إلى حد النقيض، وهذا أمر يعطى هذا الحوار قيمته ويثرى مادته، ويضعه فى أكبر إطار ممكن من الصراحة فى القول، والشجاعة فى الرأى، والقوة فى الحجة.
الثانية: إنه على الرغم من اختلاف الأرضية الفكرية، فإن حبال المودة موصولة منذ سنوات طويلة بين طرفى الحوار، بل إن الأستاذ "مفيد فوزى" يتذكر أحياناً تجربته مع العهد الناصرى ودور الأستاذ "هيكل" الإيجابى فى محاولة رفع المعاناة عنه، وهذه ميزة أخرى للحوار لأنها تجعل جو الألفة بين الطرفين سبباً للإنفتاح والرغبة فى وضع الحقائق فى مكانها المطلوب
