صاحبَ هذا الكتابُ دولة الكويت نشأة وتطورا، وقدم من خلال هذه الرحلة شعبا يبدأ المسيرة باحثا عن آفاق جديدة، مهاجرا يأنس إلى هذه البقعة من أرضها، ليختارها وطنا يمنحه قلبه وكيانه، ويضرب في البر والبحر من أجل الكفاح، ويستعين بالرفقة الصادقة من أفراد مجتمعه على مواجهة الصعاب. ثم يكتشف أن جوهر السعادة في التعايش الإنساني الذي يقوم على التعاون والمحبة، والتكامل والمساندة، والعطاء السخي الذي يمنح المجتمع متعة الأمن والتلاحم والاستقرار. ويتابع الكتاب ما أفاء الله به على الكويت من خير ونعمة، ويوضح كيف استفاد أبناؤها من ذلك في تحقيق تنمية شاملة لمجتمعهم، تركز على الإنسان، وتلبي حاجاته الأساسية وترقى به إلى مستويات كريمة من الحياة، وحين تتطور توجهات التنمية لم تغفل الكويت المستقبل والحرص على الأجيال القادمة، وحفظ حقوقها في تأكيد التنمية واستمرارها. ويقف الكتاب كثيرا أمام التواصل الحضاري لمجتمع الكويت في انفتاحه على العالم أخذا وعطاء وإحساسا بمعاناة الآخرين، فلتلقي الجهود الرسمية والشعبية على امتداد هذا الخير إلى مواطن كثيرة من العالم حيث تشتد إليها الحاجة، وتفتقر الموارد إلى إمكانات التنمية وتحقيق الرخاء. وحين تحررت الكويت من العدوان الذي جثم على أرضها في أغسطس 1990م تطلعت في توجهاتها إلى استعادة مسيرتها الإنمانية، وبدأت مرة أخرى رحلة للتعمير والتنمية تواجه خلالها مسؤوليات بناء نظام أمني يفيد من تجارب الماضي، ويوفر العدة لمخاطر المستقبل. وبذلك يتواصل ماضي الكويت وحاضرها ليؤكدا من جديد أن أمن العالم في عدالته، وتنميته في عطائه وتعاونه، وأن السعادة على كوكبنا الأرضي لا تتوافر لمجموعة منفردة تغلق عيونها عن شقاء الآخرين.
