وإنما خذ الحكمة من أفواه العقلاء المجربين هؤلاء هم أجدادنا الذين حنكتهم التجارب ولم تلوثهم المدينة الزائفة فنطقوا بتلك الأمثال التي حفظها لنا التاريخ ونطقت بها الألسنة جيلاً بعد جيل حتى وصلت إلينا وكأنها تنطبق على حياتنا بالضبط لم ينقص من حقيقتها الدهور ولم يبلها مر السنين وكر الأيام والشهور.
وأما أهمية المثل فكما يقول الميداني صاحب (مجمع الأمثال) (إذا جعل الكلام مثلاً كان أوضح للمنطق وأنق للسمع وأوسع لشعوب الحديث).
