يتناول هذا الكتاب بإسهاب قصة الانتداب البريطاني على فلسطين خلال ثلاثين عاماً والأحداث التي رافقت ذلك الانتداب البغيض الذي كان أسوأ من كل استعمار شاهدته الأقطار التي رزحت تحت نيره. أنه يتحدث عن هجرة اليهود إلى فلسطين منذ بدأت والأساليب التي اتبعت بمعرفة حكومة الانتداب أو بإيعاز منها، كما لا يغفل ذكر الأساليب والضغوطات التي مارسها الانتداب لإجبار العرب على بيع أراضيهم أو التخلي عنها تخلصاً من الضرائب التي كانت تفرض عليه عشوائياً. ويأتي الكتاب على ذكر الانتفاضات المتكررة التي عمت فلسطين والثورات التي أعلنها الشعب الفلسطيني على حكومة الانتداب ونتائج تلك الانتفاضات والثورات، ولجان التحقيق المتعددة التي زارت فلسطين وتوصياتها والشهادات التي أدلت أمامها. ويفرد الكتاب مكاناً رحيباً للحديث عن الحرب العربية الإسرائيلية التي جرت وقائعها عام 1948-1949 ثم قيام دولة إسرائيل. وفي الكتاب، فوق ذلك كله، وثائق مصورة كلها شاهد صدق على تلك الحقبة السوداء من تاريخ فلسطين.
