تساو يو (24 سبتمبر , 1910— 13 ديسمبر , 1996) كاتب مسرحي صيني شهير اسمه الاصلي وان جيا باو ولقبه شي الصغير ولد في اسرة أرستقراطية لأب يكتب الشعر و الرواية و المقال.يرجع الفضل الأول في اهتمام تساو يو بالأدب إلى والده. كما يعتبر تساو يو من أبرز الكتاب في القرن العشرين و من أشهر اعماله المسرحية العاصفة الرعدية 1933 و شروق الشمس (مسرحية) 1936 و أهل بكين عام 1940 ولا زال تأثير تساو يو على المسرح الصيني واضحا فهو علم من اعلام الأدب الصيني.

البرية) مسرحية «فكرة»، وهي أيضاً في حد ذاتها ابتداع رومانسي من جانب المؤلف لأن موضوعها الذي جسدته هو أيضاً مجرد فكرة، ويرمز بطل المسرحية (تشيوخو) إلى الإنسان الذي يتحدى قدره ومصيره، ويصفه المؤلف ليس باعتباره (إنساناً اجتماعياً)، بل (إنساناً لديه فكرة) ويتجلى ذلك في مقدمة المسرحية التي تقدم لنا عالماً من خيالات وتصورات المؤلف التي تجسد فكرته في المسرحية. - تصف المسرحية حدثاً مهماً وقع في قرية في خضم قلاقل أمراء الحرب في شمال الصين في عام 1911، حيث من يملك مسدساً يصبح طاغية، لذلك قبع الفلاحون في شرك الظلام الدامس وتطلعوا إلى المقاومة والتحدي مع رمز القوة الطاغية (جياو يان وانج)، وهنا يعلن الكاتب تعاطفه وحنوه على هؤلاء المسحوقين والمعدمين في المجتمع الصيني القديم، ويقدم نماذج نمطية من تلك الشخوص التي رسم باقتدار أعماقها وسبر أغوارها، وتتكامل فيها الأضواء وتتشابك خيوطها الغزيرة داخل المأساة الاجتماعية التي تزخر بالمشاهد المثيرة والمروعة.
