هذا الكتاب ليس كتاباً في الطائفية، ولا هو تكريساً لها ، ولا تأريخاً لطائفة معينة في معزل عن إطارها الوطن، وإنما هو عرض وتأكيد وتوضيح لحقائق تاريخية ثابتة، حاول المغرضون أن يطمسوا معالمها على مر الزمن، وتعريف بطائفة تفرعت من الدوحة الإسلامية زمن الدولة الفاطمية، ولا تزال إلى يومنا هذا، تحافظ على هويتها القومية، ونقاء دمها، وتتمسك بمذهبها الإسلامي الإيماني التوحيد ، ألا وهي طائفة المسلمين الموحدين (الدروز). أما الغاية من هذه الدراسة فهي تعريف الأجيال الصاعدة من أبناء مذهب التوحيد بوجه خاص، وتعريف الآخرين في كل مكان بوجه عام، بنشأة طائفة المسلمين الموحدين الدروز التاريخية، ومرتكزات معتقدها الديني الأساسية، والتي بات الكثير من أبنائها يجهلونها، ثم إلقاء الضوء على أبرز عاداتها وتقاليدها التي تمارسها يومياً تقريباً ثم تسجيل موجز عن نضالها الوطني والقومي عبر التاريخ، يضاف إلى ذلك ترجمة لعدد من أشهر أعلامها القدماء والمحدثين.
