يتناول هذا المرجع التدريس المصغر كبرنامج لصقل مهارات التدريس للطالب المعلم،وبما يتضمن لكل من مشرف التدريب الميدانى والمعلم المتعاون وذلك تمشيا مع الاتجاهات الحديثة لاكتساب الطالب المعلم مهارات التدريس بصفة عامة والمهارات الخاصة لكل فرع من فروع المعرفة التى تضطلع مؤسسات إعداد المعلم لإعداد الطلاب المعلمين للقيام بمسئوليات التعليم فى مراحل ماقبل التعليم الجامعى،وذلك من خلال بعض النظم المعمول بها فى ملاحظة الأداء وتقييمة،ومن ثم تقويمة لإعداد معلم مسئول بمسئولياتة فى تربية وتعليم الاجيال. كما يتناول تعريفا بالمصطلحات فى هذا المجال التربوى التعليمى الميدانى من حيث أهداف التربية العملية الميدانية،وتنظيم الزيارات الميدانية والتدريب خلال فترة التربية العملية المنفصلة،ومسئوليات وأدوار المشاركين فى برامج التربية العملية، وكذلك الكفايات المهنية المتطلبة لدى الطالب المعلم وأنواع الخطط التدريسية ومهارات تخطيط التدريس، ثم عرض لبطاقات تقويم الأداء، بالإضافة إلى نماذج بطاقات اداء الطالب المعلم. هذا المرجع أعد للطلاب المعلمين والمعلمين فى الخدمة ومشرفى التربية العملية الميدانية، حيث استغرق سنوات عمل وخبرات من مدارس تربوية وأنظمة عديدة فى مصر والدول العربية .
