يهدف هذا الكتاب إلى تعريف الطالب والمعلم بأساسيات العملية التدريسه وكفايتها والمهارات اللازمة لها وكذلك إعداد الطالب بتنظيم ولوائح التربية العملية ويحتوى على جزء خاص بالتعليم المصغر ويستعرض الجوانب المختلفة لهذه التقنية الحديث في إعداد المعلمين وتزويد الطالب بمهارات استقدام بعض التقنيات التعليمية المطلوبة في الدارس ويتناول الكتاب ثمانية فصول تحدث الأول عن التربية العملية وتعريفها وأهميتها وأهدافها ومراحلها كما تحدث عن فوائدها وتناول الفصل الثاني صفات المعلم الناجح والكفايات الواجب توافرها لديها من صفات نفسية وشخصية وعقلية ويتطرق الى نصائح ما للطالب والمعلم أما الفصل الثالث فناقش الأهداف السلوكية ماهيتها وأهميتها وأهدافها أما الفصل الرابع فخصص لتحضير الدروس والإعداد اليومي للدروس والتحضير الجيد والفصل الخامس تناول تنفيذ الدروس والمهارات الصفية الهامة والفصل السادس تطرق الكتاب فيه الى التدريس المصغر كتقنية حديثة في إعداد المعلمين أما الفصل السابع فناقش بعض التقنيات المستخدمة في التدريس وأهميتها وقدم في الفصل الثامن نماذج لبحث ميداني في التربية العملية والتعليم المصغر.
