هذه الدراسة هي عبارة عن محاولة لبناء حبكة معرفية يربط فيها بين الجغرافية التاريخية والجغرافية الإقليمية لمنطلقة الخليج العربي ضمن إطار ما أطلق عليه "الجغرافية الاستراتيجية" بوصفه أحد العلوم المعاصرة الذي يتبنى محاولة استكشاف مستقبليات المنطقة بالاستناد إلى معطيات (ثوابت ومتغيرات) تاريخية وجغرافية واستراتيجية عديدة. ويزعم الباحث أن هذه الدراسة قدمت صورة "بانورامية" متوازية ومختزلة، وإن لم تكن شاملة، عن المكانة الجيوستراتيجية لدائرة الخليج العربي، كونها إحدى أبرز زوايا مربع أزمات الشرق الأوسط، باعتبارها تمتلك ثروة النفط الاستراتيجية، وهو أثمن ما يحتاج إليه هذا العصر.
