يتضمن هذا البحث على دراسة جيوستراتيجية تعني بالتطرق للمجال الحيوي في الخليج وذلك من خلال ثلاثة مباحث أساسية، في المبحث الأول تم تناول المجال الإقليمي في الجغرافية التاريخية لمنطقة الخليج العربي وعناصره الأساسية كما وتم تحليل جيوتاريخية المكان التي لم تكن مفرغة قط من العوامل الاستراتيجية المتنوعة ضمن أشكال وصيغ وألوان متعددة على امتداد التاريخ الحديث إقليمياً ودولياً، كالتي شهدتها تكوينات السياسية وتحولاته الاجتماعية، ومتغيراته الاقتصادية عبر القرون الأربعة الماضية، منذ نهايات القرن الخامس عشر حتى نهايات القرن التاسع عشر.
وفي المبحث الثاني تم تحليل طبيعة الكتل الجيوتاريخية الإقليمية المقسمة إلى أربعة أقسام هي: الخليجية المركزية المتصفة بالتضامنية، والسعودية المجاورة المتصفة بالتحالفية ضمن مجلس التعاون لدول الخليج العربية، والعراقية الرأسية المتصفة بالخصوصية البرية-النهرية، والإيرانية المحيطة المشاركة بسواحل البرية، وعالج في المبحث الثالث المجال الحيوي لمنطقة الخليج العربي بدءاً باكتشاف النفط حتى النهايات التاريخية للقرن العشرين، بالتوقف فقط عند الجوانب الجيوستراتيجية التي قادت تأثيراتها المباشرة القوية عليها سياسياً واجتماعياً واقتصادياً وثقافياً...
