الكتاب موجه للمهتمين علمياً بالجيوستراتيجيا، حيث يتناول المؤلف بالتفصيل الإيحائي والربط الإجرائي للمفهوم بدلالاته وأبعاده في محاولة لتفكيك مصفوفة المشاكل التي تعتري الدول وقوتها في علاقاتها مع اراضيها، في واقع جيو أمني قوامه وعي "ماحي" بالقيم والإعتبارات المصيرية للأرض، معبرة في نفس الوقت عن حرص الدولة على عدم التفريط في أي جزء من جغرافيتها، هذا من حيث الوجهة النظرية المعيارية. ولكن، من حيث الواقع، فإن استراتيجيات وسياسات الدول الدفاعية والأمنية، تلفها الدوامات التي تفضي إلى اضطرابات ونزاعات على الأراضي (نقاط التموضع الجغرافي للقوة)، ترصدها الجيوستراتيجيا وفق منهج علمي يتناول تبيان دور العناصر الجغرافية الشاملة في تعيين حجم الإستراتيجيات القومية وتحديد مسارات واتجاهات النزاعات ومفاهيمها، مع بلورة التصورات التي تصوغها التشكيلات التقليدية للقوة، واستخراج المعاني والرموز في سياق تشكيلها القومي والميداني.
