"الرواية" هذه لا تبدو رواية بالمعنى التقليدي، حيث تبتعد فيها عن كل حبكة أو رسم لشخصيات أو حتى لُحمة روائية، لكن وبعيداً عن هذه التصنيفات نقف أمام حوار ذاتي (إن جاز القول) يدخلنا في متاهات الحاضر ومتاهات النفس ومتاهات الحياة، بما تحتويه من صراع بين الأنا والأنا، قبل أن تكون صراعاً مع الآخر. بلغة قاسية، وبدون مسوغات، يسير بنا الكتاب ليأخذنا في رحلة تختلط فيها الأشياء، وتختلط فيها الأزمنة الواقعية، لنقف على انهيارات امرأة تخبر عبر مونولوغ طويل عن حالاتها المتفردة التي تريدها قطيعة مع لحظتها الراهنة. . . "العمل لا يلتزم بالشروط التقليدية للرواية، وسجن النص في أطر مكانية وزمانية وشخصيات لها أسماء ووظائف ومواقف وبداية ونهاية . الرواية هنا تتناول قصة الصوت الواحد المتعدد الأصداء، يمكننا فيها أن نبحر بعيداً، كما يمكننا أن نختار اللعب على الشاطئ . نحن نشهد زمن انقلاب المعايير، فكيف بالأدب . برأيي تستطيع الرواية ألا تخضع للأسلوبية المحضة، لأن الاختلاف مطلوب، شرط أن تحافظ على عنصر الدهشة والجذب ومدى إجادة الراوي في التوغل إلى غوامض النفوس واللعب فيها " عائشة عجينة
