يحاول كتاب " متاعب الزواج " أن المشكلات التي تنشأ بين الأزواج والزوجات لا تؤثر على جوهر العلاقة بينهما، قد يشعر واحدهما بالملل أو الضيق أو الرغبة في الفرار؛ إلا أن الحقيقة أنه لا يستطيع أن يضحي بشريك حياته بسهولة. وقد يظن الزوج-بعد عدة سنوات من الزواج-أنه لم يعد يجب زوجته، وقد تظن الزوجة ذلك أيضاً؛ إلا أن الحب في الزواج له طعم مختلف وله جوهر مختلف، فالعلاقة الزوجية قوية وعميقة وحميمة؛ إلا أنها أيضاً تتمتع بدرجة عالية من الحساسية، ولذا؛ فهي تتطلب المودة والرحمة. وهذا الكتاب يأخذ بطريق الزوجين إلى طريق المودة والرحمة برفق لينعما بأعظم سكن؛ وهو قلب وعقل شريك حياته، أعظم نعمة منحها الله للإنسان. يقدم تفسيراً لما نسميه متاعب الزواج والتى يشعر بها كلاً من الرجل والمرأة بعد فترة غير قليلة من الزواج ويقترح الحلول المناسبة والعلاج اللازم للتغلب على تلك المتاعب فى محاولة من الكاتب لإثبات أن الزواج يعد من أنجح النظم الاجتماعية التى تضمن الاستقرار للإنسان على وجه الكرة الأرضية والتى وهبها الله تعالى للإنسان.
