كم كان سابقاً يمشي بثقة، والكل ينتحّى له إحتراماً وهيبة... أما الآن فإنه بات يسير في شوارع لم يكن يعرفها، ويزور أماكن لا يعرفه فيها أحد... ولذلك، وبسبب إطراقته الطويلة... ينسى نفسه فيمشي، ويمشي، ويدخل حارات، ويتجاوز شوارع علّه يخفف كآبته، لكنه لا يفيق من التفكير إلا على إصطدامه برجل يشتم، أو شاب يصرخ، أو طفل يظنه مجنوناً نتيجة حركاته الغريبة وتصرفاته المريبة مثل تحدثه مع نفسه، فيرميه بالأحجار.
