"انسحبت المرأة منسلة، جارة معها آخر شعاعيات قنديل الغروب لحظة مغادرتها عتبة الباب، انطفأ الضوء، ذيل نور السماء فجمدني الصمت والتأمل، تملكتني عتمة راحت تهطل علي ندفاً رمادية طيفية تتكاتف طبقات، كتتالي العصور على جرار وعظام لكائن ما ضوي، بدائي، فأطبق قتام العزلة على روحي ناحتاً لي مأوى ديكورياً لسجن ممض وعذب، فأراد لي كل امتيازات انفرادي القدسي ووحدتي والحقيقة المرة أنني لم أكن وحدي كلياً، فلحظة اختفاء المرأة وخمود الضوء برز جسد حيواني صغير، تربع على عتبة الباب كابي هول صغير، ثم أنشأ يخزرني بعينه الفسفوريتين، الخضراوين، صرخت غير مصدق ما أدى مذعوراً ومندهشاً أو أشبه باك... ها هو نيوتن يتهيأ داخلاً بيتي، قاصداً حجرتي، ينتأ رأسه من كم كنزة يلبسها، يجرجرها، أو يتعربش به: كنزة صوفية نبيذية اللون طرزت عليها الصورة نفسها، صورته"..." في قصص الحب، قصص الحرب مختارات من القصص مثيرة تشعر بأحداثها تصل إليه عبر مسافة الزمن والواقع، أما الصور فتتخيلها حية، تشعر بها وتحس بنبضها وبأنفاسها مخرج مشبعة بهواء القمع والقيود المختلط الخوف، أما ارتباطات الأحداث ببعضها فتنسج للقارئ حكاية الإنسان العربي الدائمة في علاقته الضدية مع الأنظمة القائمة والقاص بذلك يميل إلى تعريه وتقشير المسمات وتقديمها بلا أغطية، ولكنه أحياناً يمزج المرئي باللامرئي والمحسوس بظلاله أو بشياطينه...
