«تلاوة الظل» قصيدة طويلة تشبه الرحلة، الرحلة إلى ايثاكا لصاحبها اليوناني السكندري كفافيس والذي يحضر بقوة في نهاية النص. كانت وصايا كفافيس أن نستمتع بالرحلة إلى ايثاكا، أن ننفتح على الطريق إليها، لأن الرحلة هي ذاتها فايثاكا ليس لديها شيء تقدمه. الطريق هو المعرفة، وهو ما يفعله الصوت الشعري في قصيدة «تلاوة الظل»، يسعى إلى المعرفة الباطنية، يسعي للإمساك بالجوهر، ولا يسعه ذلك إلا عبر التصالح والتوحد والذوبان في ما حوله من كل المخلوقات والتفاصيل". كما كتب الروائي والصحفي أحمد الفخراني مقال في المصري اليوم تحت عنوان "تلاوة الظل .. عندما تنجينا المعرفة" وجاء فيه "في تلاوة الظل" ثمة بديل عن الحقيقة ، بديل لا يجعل النور شرطا للمعرفة بل العمي، حيث "الأعمي لم يعد يخاف"، من "تعثره في الضوء"، الضوء الذي يقدم المعرفة سرعان ما يتحول إلي حجاب لا سبيل لخلاص منه إلا بعتمة النفق، تليها الرؤية من جديد
