يبدو أن القاعدة العلمية الدقيقة لا تحتمل تعدد المعاني والتأويلات ومع ذلك تفاجئنا الحياة اليومية بتطبيقات غريبة يصعب على العالم المتشدد إرجاعها إلى المدلول الذي أراد الوصول إليه من خلال القاعدة التي حددها. وتواضعا منا وحياد من العلماء لن نأخذ أمثلة معقدة لتوضيح الملاحظة، ونقتصر على حالات يمكن للمتخصصين في علم الاجتماع أن يفسروها بمعطيات مختلفة عن قوانين الرياضيات والفيزياء وغيرهما. في هذا المستوى لوحظ استعمال الكسكاس الذي صنع لتسلل البخار إلى حبات الدقيق، في مجال الهوائيات الملتقطة لما تبثه محطات التلفزة، ولوحظ أيضا أن آلة غسيل الثياب تم استعمالها في مخاض الحليب واستخلاص الزبدة. لا نقصد مناقشة احتمال التطبيقات والتأويلات المتعددة لظاهرة علمية واحدة لأن ما يهمنا هو تسجيل المعطيات في الميدان العلمي ذاته رغما عن اعتقاد يكاد يكون مطلقا بطبيعته الدقيقة. وإذا كان الواقع العلمي يقبل هذه النسبية، فما بالنا بالحقائق « المستخرجة مما يدعى بالعلوم الإنسانية والاجتماعية حيث نختار المادة القانونية على وجه التحديد ؟ في هذا الإطار لا يستغرب أحد تفسير وتطبيق القانون في اتجاهات مختلفة ؟ ويعتبر ذلك فقها أو اجتهادا ينسجم مع لفظ القانون أو مع روحه. ويجوز إرجاع المواقف المتباينة إلى اعتماد أنواع متعددة من البرهنة والتحليل، أو إلى التأثر بظروف اجتماعية وإنسانية يهملها البعض ويركز عليها البعض الآخر. ويظل الأمر إلى هذا الحد مقبولا بسبب اختلاف الأشخاص الذين يتعرضون للموضوع الواحد، بحيث لا يعدو أن يكون استمرارا للفروق بين المدارس التي ينتمون إليها أو للظروف التي ميزت معالم شخصياتهم. لكن، عندما يتعلق المشكل بالشخص الواحد، وبدون تغيير في مدرسته أو في ظروفه، فإن المسألة تتخذ بعدا آخر من المحتمل أن يتصل بالمادة العلمية ذاتها…
