لم يَحْظَ حسين مروّة، حتى إنجاز هذا العمل، بما هو أهلٌ له من الدرس العملي الرصين، برغم ما حظي به اسمه من انتشار واهتمام في أوساط «المثقفين» على وجه الخصوص، وعند الملتزمين بالفكر والممارسة السياسيَّيْن على وجه أخص. وقد تقَدَّمَ نضالُه السياسيّ ورحيلُه الفاجع على أيّ أمر آخر، وبخاصة على دلالة عمله النظريّ الفكريّ الذي جسَّده في كتابه الذائع الصيت «النزعات الماديّة في الفلسفة العربيّة الإسلاميّة». ووُفَّق موسى برهومة، في إبراز الغائيّة القصوى التي تثوي وراءَ مشروع حسين مروّة، وهي توظيف التراث العربيّ الإسلاميّ في المواقف الأيديولوجيّة الطبقيّة، وفي ربط حركة التحرر العربيّة المعاصرة بالنزعات الماديّة في الحضارة الإسلاميّة، وهو موقف يجعل من حسين مروّة أحد أبرز المفكّرين العرب المعاصرين الذين ذهبوا إلى أنّ التراث يحمل في طيّاته «نزعات حيّة» يمكن استخدامها وتوظيفها في عمليات التغيير والتقدّم، بل والثورة أيضاً. أما دراسة موسى برهومة فهي ذاتُ خِصال بارزة: فهي لا تقصّر في استحضار آراء وتحليلات جميع الذين عُنوا بأعمال حسين مروّة، وهي تقارب ذلك كلّه مقاربة موضوعيّة، وهي لا تقع في شراك النظر الأيديولوجيّ برغم السمة الأيديولوجيّة الغالبة على الموضوع، وهي - بنزوعها التحليليّ النقديّ - تستجيب استجابة مطابقة لمتطلّبات البحث العلميّ الرصين الذي جسّده موسى برهومة بلغة دقيقة مُحْكَمة، وبأسلوب جاذب شائق، وبفكر واعٍ، لا للقضايا التي عرض لها المفكّر الذي اتّجه إلى دراسته فحسب، وإنما أيضاً لثلّة من قضايا العصر ومشكلاته الرئيسة. لقد حملتْ إليَّ قراءتي لهذا العمل قدْراً عظيماً من الفائدة والمتعة، وأنا أرجو أن تحملَ للقارىء ما لا يقلّ عن هذا القدْر. د. فهمي جدعان
