يتضمن كتاب "ما وراء الوجه - سياسات الكتابة وثقافات المقاومة" للباحث السعودي "أحمد الواصل" أبحاث ودراسات مكتوبة في مناسبات مختلفة وهي تمثل قراءة تتخذ من الإنسان مرجعاً وتسير في تفكيك لئام وجوده في الزمان والمكان. يقول الكاتب: "هذا الكتاب يسير عبر خيط دقيق، ربما لا يتعمد أن يصرح به، إلا أنه يعنيه ويقاربه، حيال فعل المقاومة في الكتابة عبر حقول ومجالات وفضاءات ثقافية مختلفة ومتفاوتة في الإعلام والفلسفة والنقد، وعن المرأة والشباب.. ربما ركزت بعض أقسام الكتاب في مجال الفكر فلسفة ونقداً حول اسمي المفكر عبد الله القصيمي والناقد عبد الله عبد الجبار غير أنها تتبعت إسهامات كثر في مجال فئات عضوية طرحت قضاياها مثل المثقفة من تكوينها وإلى تحولاتها، والشباب مثقفين ومثقفات ودورهم في سياسات الكتابة عبر الأدب وما وازاه من طرق التعبير الذي يدون رصيد المقاومة من رفض واحتجاج يشكل ثقافة الاستمرار والتحول. إنها محاولة لقراءة وجه الرفض والاحتجاج فكراً وسلوكاً، سلبياً وإيجابياً - إلا أن الثاني أولى -، بما ينتج ثقافة المقاومة بوصفها سياسات في الكتابة والفعل الرمزي بكل ما فيه من إخفاق ومراوغة، أو انكسار وجنون! ادعاء بسيط ونوعي في أرشفة الثقافة تتبعاً للإنسان وأفكاره في ذاكرة المقاومة بعيداً عن صورتها المؤدلجة، وقريباً من تطلعات الإنسان في حضارة تكتب فناءه بوهم الخلود...". "ما وراء الوجه" يسعى إلى الكشف عن - فعل الكتابة - كسياسة في التعبير والتفكير، وبالتالي هي تعبير عن رفض واحتجاج، تستحيل إلى تعبير عن مقاومة..
