من جبل عامل في جنوب لبنان، وهو متزوج من الاعلامية رابعة الزيات.
قدّم البرنامج الحواري الأسبوعي خليك بالبيت لسنوات كثيرة في تلفزيون المستقبل.
وانتقل إلى قناة الميادين سنة 2011 ليقدم برنامج بيت القصيد.

لو أمكن وضع أكثر من عنوان للكتاب الواحد، لكان العنوان الآخر لهذا الكتاب: "كتاب المدينة".
إنه إعلان انحياز إلى المدينة والحياة المدينية، والمدينة هنا هي بيروت التي سبق وأسماها زاهي وهبي في كتابه "3 دقات/بيروت على خشبة مسرح": "مسقط قلبي".
في "بيروت.. المدينة المستمرة" يكتب المؤلف بحبر القلب، قارئاً، من داخل في المشهد الثقافي لبيروت، وهو أحد صناعه والمشاركين فيه، على مدى ربع قرن، مناقشاً بحب ومودة الكثير من الآراء والأفكار المطروحة، متجولاً بيسر وسلاسة وبقلمه "السهل الممتنع"، في أروقة المدينة الإبداعية. والإبداع عصب بيروت وعلة وجودها وضمان استمرارها.
ويجدر الإشارة الى أن هذا الكتاب قد حاز على جائزة النادي الثقافي العربي أفضل الكتب إخراجاً المرتبة الأولى - لبنان لعام 2007.

بيروت تنهض كل مرة تسقط فيها لتسقط الأقنعة عن وجوه الدجالين ومنتحلي الصفات، وأهم ما في المدينة الناهضة أبداً من ركام أزمنة وحطام أمكنة أنها تكرس ولا تقدس.
تحتفل بالجديد وتحتفي به، وتحفظ للقديم حقه ومقامه، لكنها لا تحوله طوطماً.
تكرس الرواد والمؤسسين والرموز ولا تقدسهم، كي لا ينأى أحد منهم عن السجال والمساءلة.
كتابها دائماً بيمينها، ترفعه إلى أعلى، على رؤوس الأشهاد وأسنة الرماح، شهادة لها وعليها، وعلى الذين جاؤوها غزاة وفاتحين، عشاقاً وملهوفين، صعاليك ومنفيين. وشهادة للمقيمين أبداً في ضيافة حريتها الباهظة.
