… هو لتفكيك آليات تخريب المدينة، عبر تمزّق النسيج السكّاني، وتفتيتها عمرانيّاً، بعدما تقسّمت طائفيّاً خلال الحرب الأهليّة. حتّى صارت بيروت مدينة بلا حيز عام، بلا مركز، بلا قلب، بلا أرصفة، بلا ذاكرة: "مدينة أشباح"، "أمكنة فارغة لناس لن يأتوا". حيث نقرأ فيه: "بيروت، بعد انقضاء ربع قرن على بدء إعمارها، هي مدينة ممزقة بالمعايير المدينية، وبالدلالات المرئية للكلمة. إنّها مدينة مزّقها الإعمار، وهي مجموعة بقع مسكونة (…) بفعل الإعمار، خسرت بيروت كل العناصر التي توحّدها مدينيّاً".
