"إلى عيني رولا اللتين تختصران الفرح والوطن والحقيقة" يهدي لطفي حداد ديوانه (حضارة الحب) احتفاء بقمره الأسمر الذي راح يشعل في زمن الموت جذوة الأمل والرجاء يبكي تاريخاً طواه الطغاة وأندثر وهجه بوحل الخيانات "تاريخاً كان كوهج الشمس/طمروه في وحل الخيانات، فاندثر".
لقد أخذت منه الأحداث حلمه وتركته أعزل إلا من بعض حب يعوض به ما ضاع من أمل منشود في متاهات السياسة والسمسرة. "في زمن الموت/أني أحبك، يا قمرى الأسمر".
لقد سرقوا الوطن وباعوه ولم يبق منه إلا افتراض وقصيدة يثقلها الشوق إلى بلوغ الحلم. "كل شيء حولي افتراضٌ/وأنت الحقيقة/أنت القصيدة".
الإنسان في قصائد لطفي حداد محاصر بالموت والجوع والألم تكدر الحروب صفو أيامه وتحيله إلى لعبة من حجر. لكن الشاعر يتسوّر جدار الحلم ليلثم وجنة النهر المترقرق في حضارة الحب. حيث يلتقي النقيضان، الظل والنور، فيصبح كل شيء ممكناً في عالم الحلم، حتى المساء تتحول أرضاً خصبة، حبلى بالغيوم بينما ينهمر عطر التراب مطراً. "في المدينة الحلم/يندمج كل شيء في عينيك الصافيتين، فيصير ماء النهر وماء عينيك/أعجوبتي هذي الطبيعة."
