مما لا شك فيه أن المشكلة الكردية في الشرق الأوسط تعتبر من أعقد المشاكل وأطولها عمراً. وتتمثل المشكلة بمطالبة الأكراد بحقوق تحافظ على تميزهم القومي واللغوي وتثبيت هذه الحقوق في الدساتير وفي قوانين معلنة، في حين أن أغلب حكومات الدول التي يقطن فيها الأكراد، باستثناء العراق، تصر على رفض هذه المطالب التي تعتقد أنها ستقود إلى انفصال الأكراد. وهكذا تعقدت المشكلة في المنطقة وظلت بدون حل جذري ونهائي، وازدادت التعقيدات حتى وصلت مراحل خطرة بعد التداخلات الإقليمية والدولية في المشكلة. إلا أن الكثيرين من أبناء الشرق الأوسط والوطن العربي، وبسبب التعتيم المفروض على المشكلة يجهلون حقيقتها وجذورها وحقيقة المطالب الكردية والأسلوب الذي تم التعامل به معها بالإضافة إلى المشاكل التي تعاني منها الحركات الكردية. هذه مجموعة من الدراسات كتبت في فترات زمنية مختلفة عن المشكلة في كل دولة من الدول التي يتواجد فيها الأكراد، وجدت من المفيد جمعها في كتاب واحد بعد أن تم تحديث معلوماتها على أمل أن تساهم في توضيح المشكلة وإيجاد حل سلمي وديمقراطي دائم لها.
