هل للحب مكانٌ، أو زمانٌ، أو هوية، أو حدود، أم أنه يتجاوز كل قيد أو شرط، وهل يستطيع أن يعبر القارات؟
رواية "حب عابر للقارات"، للكاتب "نزار دندش"، تحكي ألم العشاق عندما يجمعهم أجمل ما في الوجود، ويفرقهم أبشع ما فيه من عصبيات وأحقاد بعيدة كل البعد عن جوهر الدين، ومعانيه السامية. في أسلوب سردي حزين ومشوق في آن، يسرد الكاتب تفاصيل الحياة اليومية لزياد، ذلك التلميذ المجتهد الذي رافقه الخجل على امتداد سني شبابه ومنعه من ممارسة هواياته ومن التعبير صراحة عن آرائه، فقرر أهله إرساله إلى الخارج لمتابعة دراسته الجامعية، فيسافر إلى أوستراليا، وهناك يشاء القدر أن يكتوي بنار الحب، فيعشق سونتيا حتى الجنون، ولكن سونتيا هندية من دين آخر (بوذية). فهل يستطيع هذا الحب الاستمرار، وخصوصاً عندما تعلم سونتيا بأصله العربي والمسلم، وأن العرب بنظرها وبحسب ما تروجه وسائل الإعلام الغربية على أنهم إرهابيون وقتلة، وهم من حطموا تمثال بوذا الشهير على يد طالبان.
يحاول زياد إقناعها بوجهة نظره، بأن العرب أمة ساهمت في بناء الحضارة الإنسانية، ولولا علومهم، وعلوم غيرهم طبعاً، لما كان بالإمكان غزو الفضاء، وأن من يساهم في بناء الحضارة تسمو ثقافته، فلا يتحول إلى إرهابي أو إلى داعم للإرهاب.
ثم تتوتر علاقته بسونتيا، فيقرر الرجوع إلى بلده الأم "لبنان" ليمارس حياته الطبيعية، فيشعل الحب قلبه مرة أخرى ويلتقي بسعاد، ليتصالح مع واقعه الجديد ولكنه يقابل بالرفض مرة ثانية لأنها أي العروس من مذهب آخر.
ثم تتوالى الأحداث في الرواية، ليعود ويلتقي مرة أخرى بحبه الأول سونتيا. فهل سيتمكنان معاً من تخطي عقبة الأديان، والصراعات بين ثقافتين مختلفتين، وليحيا الحب من جديد؟ هذا ما تخبئه سطور الرواية...
رواية إنسانية وممتعة في آن، تدغدغ مشاعر العاشقين ليحلموا في عالم خاص بهم وحدهم، لا علاقة له بصراع الحضارات، فبالحب وحده تستمر الحياة مهما بعُدت المسافات والقارات.
