Book Description
تدور قصة «عاصفة اللهب» لأندرو لين حول فقدان شارلوك صديقته ووالدها. حيث يبدو منزلهما وكأن أحداً لم يسكنه قط، وحيث يزعم جيرانهما أنهم لم يسمعوا بهما من قبل إلى حد أن شارلوك يبدأ بالشك بسلامة عقله، إلى أن يقوده مفتاح اللغز إلى اسكتلندا.
إن تتبعه هذا المفتاح ورّطه في عملية خطف غامضة، حيث اكتشف سارقي جثث ورجلاً يزعم أنه يستطيع إحياء الموتى. ما من أحد سوى التحري الشاب شارلوك يمكنه حلّ الأحجية الخطيرة والمربكة التي وقع بها أصدقاؤه وإنقاذهم. هل تعرف شارلوك هولمز؟ فكّر في الأمر مجدداً.
من أجواء الرواية نقرأ:
"... هناك كنز بالطبع، ولكن ليس من النوع الذي توقعته.
تذكر شارلوك ما قرأه سابقاً في مكتبة عمه عن كنيسة المورمون. بدأت الحركة في أميركا منذ أربعين عاماً بقيادة رجل يدَّعي أن بحوزته نصاً مقدساً يُدعى كتاب المورون. عندما سئل من أين حصل على هذا النص قال إنه عندما كان في السابعة عشر من عمره أخبره ملاك يدعى موروني أن هناك مجموعة من الكتابات القديمة للأنبياء المحفورة على صحون ذهبية وهي الآن مدفونة تحت هضبة في نيويورك. تخبر الكتابات عن قبيلة من اليهود الذين هاجروا من القدس إلى أميركا منذ ستمئة سنة قبل مولد المسيح...".
أندرو لين كاتب وصحفي. كان طوال حياته من المعجبين بشخصية شارلوك هولمز. شغفه بالروايات الأصلية التي ألفها السير آرثر كونان دويل، وعزمه على ابتكار شخصية شارلوك هولمز في سن المراهقة، مكّناه من العمل على إرث كونان دويل، لإعادة إحياء شخصية المحقق الأكثر شهرة في العالم؛ ولكن كشاب في سن المراهقة، لقد لاقى عمله نجاحاً تجارياً كبيراً، ونال إشادة النقاد. يعيش أندرو لين في دورست مع زوجته وولده.
