«درويش صنعاء» رواية سياسية يسلط الدكتور أحمد الصياد من خلالها الضوء على المشهد السياسي المعاصر لبلاده فقد كان، لملحمة حصار صنعاء أو حصار السبعين يوماً (28 – نوفمبر 1967 – 8 فبراير 1968)، رمزية خاصة في الذاكرة اليمنية بمختلف مكوناتها.
كانت هذه الملحمة قد وحَّدت المعسكر الجمهوري بكل تياراته السياسية والفكرية، من أجل الدفاع عن العاصمة المحاصرة، في مواجهة المعسكر الملكي الذي أحكم حصاره على العاصمة، وسيطر على كل الجبال المحيطة بها، مستفيداً من دعم معظم الأنظمة العربية، وتجنيده لعدد من المرتزقة الأجانب القادمين من أكثر من دولة.
كانت المعركة غير متكافئة، وأُعلن عن قرب سقوط صنعاء في أكثر من وسيلة إعلامية خارجية. لكن المعسكر الجمهوري المؤمن بعدالة قضيته ومشروعية مطالبه وتلاحم قواته المدنيّة والعسكرية، أسقط تلك المراهنات وتمكن من صنع الانتصار ودحر قوى الظلم والظلام.
كثيرة هي الأحداث التي عاشتها المدينة المحاصرة خلال أيام ليالي الحصار، التي يتناولها هذا العمل بأسلوب رشيق وسلس ومفهوم، خاصة أن الكاتب كان حاضراً ومساهماً في الدفاع عن مدينته المحاصرة. وقد أضاف حضور الدرويش برهان طيلة أيام الحصار إلى هذا العمل روعة وتميز، حيث جسد قيم الحب والتسامح ومُثُل الحرية والعدالة والمساواة وجعل من الرقص والموسيقى بمختلف أدواتها وأنغامها، ومن الشِعر بمختلف تجلياته محطات إضافية تشد القارئ إلى متابعتها والإعلاء من شأنها.
سنرى من خلال متابعة فصول هذا العمل كيف انتصرت الجمهورية عسكرياً وفشلت سياسياً، عندما حل بأبنائها وباء العصر الذي نهش الجسد اليمني ومنع الجسم من النمو والعقل من التفكير والقلب من الحب والعين أن ترى، وتمكّن من إجهاض أحلام شعب والقضاء على آمال أمة.
