وفي ضوء ما سبق، يأتي اهتمام الأستاذة صبياء عبد الله العمري في وضع دراسة نظرية وتطبيقية عن (الاعتماد المدرسي) مع التنويه في تقديمها لها لأهمية تطبيق معايير الاعتماد المدرسي في مدارس التعليم العام حتى يتم التمكن من بناء نظام تعليمي قوي له القدرة على المنافسة عالمياً؛ حيث تسعى المملكة العربية السعودية في الآونة الأخيرة إلى دخول مجال الاعتماد المدرسي وتطبيق معاييره في ظل ما تشهده من مؤتمرات متعاقبة تناقش تطبيق معايير الاعتماد المدرسي. من هنا جاء هذا الكتاب ليشكل مقاربة مهمة ومفيدة في هذا الحقل المعرفي الجديد وقد بدأت المؤلفة عملها بمقدمة عن الاعتماد المدرسي من حيث نشأته ومفهومه وأنواعه، ثم استعرضت بعد ذلك، معايير، ومجالات، وهيئات الاعتماد المدرسي. متناولة تجارباً عالمية وعربية في تطبيق معايير الاعتماد المدرسي وأهم الإجراءات المتبعة في التطبيق، وأخيراً عرضت المؤلفة لجهود المملكة العربية السعودية واتجاهاتها في تطبيق الجودة ومعايير الاعتماد المدرسي، إضافة إلى وضع تصور مقترح لمتطلبات تطبيق معايير الاعتماد المدرسي في المدارس بالمملكة العربية السعودية.
وعليه، تأتي أهمية هذا الكتاب من كونه يطرق آخر المستجدات بموضوع الاعتماد المدرسي وإجراءات تطبيق معاييره، لذلك فهو مفيد للقائمين على العملية التعليمية، ويستفيد منه الباحثون في مجال التربية، والمشتغلون بقضية تحسين جودة التعليم المدرسي، وهو أيضاً إضافة مهمة للمكتبة العربية ولمسيرة المؤلفة العلمية والأكاديمية.
