تعتبر الإدارة المدرسية فرع من فروع الإدارة التعليمية وتهدف إلى تنظيم الأعمال المختلفة التي يمارسها عدد من العاملين في المدرسة من أجل تحقيق هدف معين، بأقل جهد وأسرع وقت وأفضل نتيجة. تغيرت أهداف الإدارة المدرسية واتسع مجالها في الوقت الحاضر، فلم تعد مجرد عملية روتينية تهدف إلى تسيير شؤون المدرسة سيرا رتيبا وفق قواعد وتعليمات معينة تقتصر على العناية بالنواحي الإدارية، بل أصبحت تعنى بالنواحي الفنية وبكل ما يتصل بالتلاميذ وبأعضاء هيئة التدريس في المدرسة، وبين المجتمع المحلي، وغير ذلك من النواحي التي تتصل بالعملية التربوية بطريقة مباشرة أو غير مباشرة. ويواجه تطوير التعلم وتحديثه في الوقت الحاضر الكثير من التحديات والمتطلبات، من أهمها وجود إدارة مدرسية علمية حديثة متمثلة في مدير المدرسة الذي يمثل سلوكه القيادي عنصرا حيويا في إدارة وتنظيم مدرسته ومن ثم تتوقف عليه فاعليتها وكفاءتها، وتعتبر الإدارة المدرسية الناجحة حجر الزاوية في العملية التعليمية التربوية فهي لم تحدد المعالم وترسم الطرق للوصول إلى هدف مشترك في زمن محدد وهي التي ترسم الوسائل الكفيلة لمراجعة العمال ومتابعة النتائج متابعة هادفة مما يساعد على إعادة النظر في التنظيمات والأنشطة والتشريعات، وتعديلها أو إعادة النظر في أساليب التنفيذ التي يمكن عن طريقها تحقيق الأهداف المنشودة. والأدارة المدرسية الواعية تهدف إلى تحسين العملية التعليمية التربوية والارتفاع بمستوىالأداء، وذلك عن طريق توعية وتبصير العاملين في المدرسة بمسؤولياتهم وتوجيههم التوجيه التربوي السليم. وأقدم هذا الجهد المتواضع للعاملين في إدارات المدارس وكافة القيادات التربوية من مشرفين ومعلمين وكل ما يشغل مركزا قياديا أو سلطة تعليمية وكذلك لطلبة الجامعات وكليات المجتمع وكل المهتمين بالعمل الإداري. آملا الاستفادة منه في تحسين العمل الإداري وتحقيق أهداف التربية.
