ترافق الأطفال في هذا الكتاب (ثلاث قصص) من التراث العربي تقدمها "نجلاء حمادة" بطريقة طريفة ومسلية ولا تخلو من مغزى وفائدة، ينتمي بعضها إلى الواقع، وبعضها الآخر إلى المتخيل الغرائبي، جميعها تؤكد مسؤولية الطفل عن أفعاله في علاقته مع الأسرة والمجتمع الذي يعيش في وسطه: الأولى (أم الذهب والدنانير) وتحكي قصة (ليلى) التي تساعد الآخرين رغم ظلم زوجة أبيها لها فأُحلت نعم الله عليها وأصبحت أكثر جمالاً حتى تزوجها الأمير. والقصة الثانية: (غزالة في غابة "القطيع") وتحكي قصة (الغزالة) التي ظلت تبحث عن مورد ماء بعيداً عن التنافس والتزاحم مع كل مخلوقات الغابة على نبع "القمة"، فرضيت ببركة ماء صغيرة في الغابة حتى أنستها مياه البركة وباتت ترقص فرحاً بمؤانسة الغزالة اللطيفة لها، فشكرت الغزالة الله على هذه النعمة المباركة "وشعرت الغزالة أنه كان يوماً مباركاً يوم اختارت الانفلات من جموع الحيوانات المتزاحمة على نبع القمة".
أما القصة الثالثة والأخيرة فهي قصة (ابنة أبو جراب) سعاد التي جعلها الاعتداد بحسن وجهها وجمالها نزقة عنيدة، كثيراً ما تتقاعس عن القيام بما يُطلب منها وتنفر من إطاعة الأكبر منها سناً، حتى والدها، لا بل سخرت منه بعد أن تزوجت ابن ملك "معرفة" المجاورة لبلدتها "خرافة" وتنكرت له حين رأته "يسير حاملاً سطلاً من البليلة، يرشف منه بنهم، (...) فأطلقت ضحكة من القلب، ولما سألها الأمير عن سبب ضحكتها لاذت بالصمت ولم تدر ماذا تقول؟! (...)".
هذه القصص الثلاث شكلت نسيجاً حكائياً فريداً، سوف يحمل الطفل إلى مطارح تنمي مخيلته وإدراكاته في فهم الحياة وفهم ذاته، وما يتوجب أن يتحلى به من أخلاق حميدة مع الآخرين، هذا من حيث المضمون، أما من حيث الشكل، فمن النص إلى الرسم والإخراج والطباعة يستحق الإعجاب.
