أديب وكاتب وصحفي لبناني ولد في بيروت عام 1972.
وله شهادة في الفيزياء من الجامعة الأمريكية في بيروت.
كما هو محرر الملحق الفكري والأدبي الأسبوعي "آفاق" في جريدة "الحياة" الصادرة في لندن تضمن كتاب "بيروت39" إحدى كتابات ربيع جابر، وصدر الكتاب بمناسبة بيروت، العاصمة العالميىة للكتاب عام 2009.
واكتب يتضمن إبداعات لأدبء وشعراء تخت سن التاسعة والثلاثين في العالم العربي.
وفي عام 2010 رشح جابر لنيل الجائزة العالمية للرواية العربية على كتابه "أمريكا" الذي اقتبس منه فيلم بذات الاسم.
نال ربيع جابر الجائزة العالمية للرواية العربية لدورة عام 2012 عن روايته "دروز بلغراد"، وأعلن ذلك في أبوظبي يوم 27 مارس 2012.

صلّبت على وجهها الشاحب البياض وهي ترى السيدة الحجرية تمدّ الشعلة الحجرية صوبها وتخرج من الضباب الذي يغطي البحر، سمعت صوتاً يقول هذا تمثال الحرية، وهناك وراء الضباب الغريب، هل ترون البنايات ناطحات السحاب، هذه مدينة نيويورك، انظروا البيوت العالية!...
تسافر مرتا حدّاد، شابة فقيرة وجميلة، من جبل لبنان إلى نيويورك في سنة 1913 بحثاً عن زوجها، بعد ذلك بسنوات طويلة، نراها في باسادينا - كاليفورنيا، ثرية ومحاطة بأبناء وبنات وأحفاد.
عبر شخصيات وحكايات، تأخذنا الرواية إلى أميركا، إلى "الجبهة الغربية"، وإلى سيبيريا...
الحرب الكبرى، ثم وباء الإنفلونزا المنسي، ثم سنوات طيبة ذهبية، ثم الأزمة الإقتصادية العالمية (1929)، ثم سنوات أخرى طيبة، ثم حرب عالمية ثانية... تحيا مرتا عبر هذا كلّه، والقراء أيضاً...
والجدير بالذكر أن هذه الرواية وقد كانت ضمن اللائحة القصيرة لجائزة البوكر العربية للرواية 2010.
