إمتلاك المال لا يشبه إمتلاك السلطة ولا الشهرة ولا حتى "الحرية"، هذه الكلمات غير متشابهة على الإطلاق، وبوصفي الإبنة الحتمية للناس الذين ترعرعت على أيديهم وأرشدوني ولمست فيهم أفضل الخصال وأسوأها، أؤمن من كل قلبي بضرورة المحافظة على القضاء الداخلي مصاناً بالكامل، الفضاء الموهوب للجميع، أؤمن بالروح.
وأكثر من ذلك، أؤمن أنها تحاسب المرء فورياً على خياراته، إنها قبول طوعي لمسؤولية المرء عن أفكاره وسلوكه وأفعاله، وهنا ممكن قوتها، اضطهاد الرجل الأبيض لي لن يكون أبداً شمّاعة وذريعة أتحصن بها لإضطهاد غيري، سواء كان رجلاً أم امرأة أم طفلاً أم حيواناً أم شجرة، لأن الذات التي فزت بها تأنف أن تكون ملكاً له، أو لغيره.
