فريدامانيا أو جنون فريدا أصبح مصطلحاً معروفاً وخصوصاً في المكسيك (Mexico) بلدها الأم، عشاقها ينظرون إليها بعين العبادة ولوحاتها سافرت حول العالم لتبهر الجميع بسرياليتها وتفردها وخصوصيتها وغوصها في أعماق تلك المرأة ضئيلة الحجم كسيرة الفؤاد ضعيفة الجسد، هي نفسها.
رسمت فريدا نفسها في خمسةٍ وخمسين (55) لوحةً من أصل مئةٍ وثلاثةٍ وأربعين (143) لوحةٍ هي نتاجها طوال حياتها، وموضوعها المفضل هو جسدها ونفسها وآلامها ورؤيتها لهذا العالم، تعلمت الرسم وحدها وطورت أسلوبها وحدها، رسمت ما تشعر به وما تراه، رسمت وجهها النحيل بحاجبيها الكثيفين المتصلين وفمها المزموم وكثيراً ما رسمت نفسها وهي تبكي، في اللوحات التي كانت هي محورها ظهرت فيهم بشخصها وملابسها ونظراتها محاطةً بأشياءٍ من حاضرها وماضيها وخيالها وحيواناتها حتى أنها رسمت نفسها مرتين في لوحة واحدة سمتها (الفريدتان).
عاشت حياةً من الآلام الجسدية والحسرات، تعرضت للمرض والكسور والإجهاض والعمليات الجراحية المتكررة، عاشت سنواتٍ ممددةً على سريرٍ أو على مقعدٍ متحركٍ أو مربوطةً في مشداتٍ مؤلمةٍ لتسند ظهرها المكسور وتساعدها على المشي مع ساقٍ يمنى ضعيفة.
كل ما يتعلق بفريدا يبدو غير واقعيٍ تماماً مثل لوحاتها، من قصة حياتها الغريبة وزواجها ومحيطها وأصدقائها، وحتى بعد وفاتها قد تحولت إلى أيقونة للفنانين والثوريين والنساء في كل أنحاء العالم، إنها فنانة المكسيك الأشهر فريدا كاهلو.
