قررت أن اكتب بعض أشيائي، وحرت كثيرا من أين أبدا؟ كتبت كثيرا، ومزقت أكثر، وكنت أشعر بالحرج الكبير وأنا وسط أناس لا يفكرون أبعد من إنقاذهم مما هم فيه، بينما أحير بكتابة بعض التفاصيل التي ربما لا تهم غيري. وبعد أكثر من سنة أقبلت بعض الوفود لتخيرنا قبول اللجوء في بلدانها.
لم أحزم شيئا من أشيائي داخل الخيمة، سوى حقيبة سوداء فيها أوراقي التي كتبتها على شكل خلخال امرأة بدوية، له رأسان، بعد أن جزعت طريقة سردها، تقرأ من البداية على أنها نهاية الأحداث وصولا الى بدايتها، وتقرأ من النهاية على أنها بداية الأحداث وصولا الى نهايتها، كتبت كل هذا من أجل أن أنزع كل ما يربطني بالمكان، وفي الوقت نفسه ليكون جزء المرآة الذي كنته؛ ولكن يمثل هموم وآلام كثيرٍ من أفراد الشعب العراقي.
