تتقصّى هذه الشهادة مواقف الحزب الشيوعي السوري من ثلاث مسائل فلسطينيّة ذوات أهمّية خاصة:
المسألة الأولى ذات صلة بموقف الحزب من قرار تقسيم فلسطين بين مواطنيها العرب وبين اليهود الذين وفدوا إليها مهاجرين تحت رايات الصهيونيّة.
والثانية هي مسألة الموقف من تأسيس منظمة التحرير الفلسطينيّة وميثاقها والفصائل الفدائية التي مارست الكفاح المسلح. وتظهر شهادة المؤلف أن الحزب السوريّ أيّد إعادة بناء الكيان الوطنيّ الفلسطينيّ وانتقد علناً بعض أٌطروحات المؤسّسين وبعض بنود ميثاقهم، كما تُظهر أن الحزب طورّ موقفه بعد 1967، فاعتبر أن للشعب الفلسطيني حقّ ممارسة الكفاح المسلّح، واحتفظ بانتقادات دأب على الجهر بها، ثم طوّر الحزب موقفه هذا فجهر بالتأييد وساهم في الكفاح المسلّح، واحتفظ بنقد بعض أوجه السياسة أو الممارسة للجلسات المغلقة .
الثالثة هي مسألة الموقف من تأسيس، أو إعادة تأسيس الحزب الشيوعيّ الفلسطينيّ. وشهادة المؤلف تقدّم معلومات كثيرة في هذا المجال لم تُعرف على نطاق واسع.
