لطالما تساءل البشر عن وجود مخلوقات أخري ذكية تعيش في هذا الكون الشاسع. وتفكروا في احتمالية أنهم وحيدون على هذا الكوكب الصغير الذي يطوف في هذا الظلام الشاسع إلى أجلٍ مسمي. ولهذا وفى عام 2145 أرسلت وكالة سيترا للفضاء التي يقع مقرها في مصر، سفينة إلى مجرة أندروميدا التي تجاور مجرتنا للبحث عن أي شكل من أشكال الحياة، ولكن السفينة اختفت بدون أي أثر، فأرسلوا سفينة أخري لتبحث عنها وتكمل مهمة سابقتها، ولكنها اختفت أيضًا! وهذا سبب الكثير من الأضرار للوكالة، ولهذا أرسلت سفينة ثالثة ولكن بدلٍ من وجود أي بشر داخلها، تم وضع روبوت من أفضل الأنواع، والمفاجئة أن هذا الروبوت ذهب وعاد مجددًا ولم تختفي سفينته كما حدث من قبل ولكن عودته حملت مفاجئة أخري، فعندما عاد بدأ بمهاجمة كل ما يراه وهو يتوعد البشر بالهلاك القريب، وتبع هذا سقوط أجسامٍ كروية سوداء غريبة من الفضاء في كل أنحاء كوكب الأرض وعند تحليلها وجد بأنها تحمل بداخلها شيفرات مكتوبة بلغة أطلانتس القديمة، وبعد سقوطها بساعات تبع هذا تمرد العديد من الروبوتات على البشر ليصبح البشر على حافة الانقراض وتتبقي لهم مدينة وحيدة على كوكب الأرض ليحتموا فيها.
