ليست الحساسية الجديدة لدى الكاتب السعودي قالباً مصمتاً، أحادياً، نمطياً، فهناك تنوعات جمالية تتعدد بعدد الكُتَّاب، ولكن هناك بالطبع ما يجمع بين الإبداعات المختلفة لدى الكُتَّاب، فالكتابات الجديدة جميعها تغييرية، وجميعها تتجاوز قواعد الإحالة التقليدية، وتحمل استشراقاً لمنطق جمالي جديد، شأن كل تجديد صحيح يحتاجه الواقع وتحتاجه تحولاته العميقة. تحت عنوان "الحساسية الجديدة في الأدب السعودي" يقدم الكاتب "حمد البليهد" في هذا الكتاب مجموعة من الدراسات النقدية والمقالات الأدبية التي كانت حصيلة لمشاركات متعددة لهُ في بعض الملتقيات الثقافية والأدبية، يتناول فيها ظاهرة الحساسية الجديدة التي تجلت في الأدب السعودي في خطابي الشعر والسرد. ولذلك فهو يسعى من وراء دراستها إلى بيان المنطق الجمالي الذي اتسمت به بعض نصوص الأدب السعودي من خلال تجاوزها قواعد الإحالة التقليدية، واستشرافها آفاقاً جديدة في أساليب الكتابة. كما جاء اهتمامه بمقاربة تلقي الشعر السعودي في النقد العربي، إضافة إلى دراسة عن تجلي الهوية في شعر فاروق جويدة، ودراسة نقدية أخرى لديوان إبراهيم الوافي "وحيداً من جهة خامسة". وبناء عليه، تُشكل بعض نصوص الأدب السعودي القاسم المشترك بين دراسات هذا الكتاب، ومن هنا جاء عنوانه دالاً على تلك الحساسية الجديدة التي أخذت تظهر ملامحها في أساليب الكتابة السردية والشعرية؛ والمحملة برؤى ومواقف وقيم جديدة، استدعتها منظومة التحولات الاجتماعية والثقافية التي شهدها المجتمع منذ الثمانينيات الميلادية.
