": تتناول الرواية قصة حياة شابة مغربية ثلاثينة تنتقل للعيش في دولة الإمارات في قالب درامي اجتماعي , و تسرد الرواية على لسان الشابة في هيئة صفحات مذكرات تكتبها لجنينها الذي لم يبصر النور بعد . يتم من خلال أحداث الرواية تسليط الضوء على المعاناة التي لقتها الشابة خديجة في العيش مع زوجة أب قاسية و تخلي والدتها عنها منذ ان كانت رضيعة سعياً وراء الثروة مع رجل إماراتي .
تلتقي خديجة بوالدتها في الإمارات بعد مرور أكثر من ثلاثين عاماً لم تكن تعرف فيه شيئاً عنها منذ أن تركتها رضيعة في المغرب و تبدأ أحداث مثيرة تكون ردة فعل لهذا اللقاء يتخللها بعض التشويق , حيث تتزوج خديجة برجل إماراتي و تستقر لكنها تتواجه مع والدتها في مواقف لم تكن في الحسبان ..
تستمد الرواية مسماها الرئيسي من جنسية البطلة و هي أحدى العقد الرئيسية في الرواية و العنوان الفرعي مستمد من العام الذي تقع فيه الرواية و هو العام 2017 الذي أطلق عليه عام الخير في دولة الإمارات العربية , حيث يكون بمثابة فأل خير على بطلة الرواية و فيه تنحل عقدة الرواية الرئيسية .
تختم الرواية بنهاية مفتوحة , تعطي فرصة لجزء ثاني حيث تسمح الأحداث بالتكملة عليها, لذا تم اختيار عنوان فرعي لهذا الجزء ..
