له في الرواية "بناية ماتيلد" و"غناء البطريق" و"لعب حيّ البياض" و"ماكياج خفيف لهذه الليلة".
وفي القصّة "تحت شرفة أنجي" و"نزهة الملاك".
ترجمت رواياته إلى الإنكليزية والفرنسية والألمانية والإيطالية.
ولد حسن داوود سنة 1951، وهو يعمل صحفي في اليومية البيروتية "المستقبل"، درس الأدب العربي بالجامعة اللبنانية في بيروت.
ظهرت أوّل رواية له باللغة الفرنسية بعنوان "ضيعة ماتلدا" سنة 1998، وتبعتها رواية ثانية بعنوان "الأيام الأخيرة"، وهي دراسة نفسية عميقة حول الشيخوخة.
Book Description
يبحث قاسم، الصحافي المخضرم، المقبل على عمر الستين عاماً، عن دلال التي ضيّعها قبل ما يزيد على أربعين سنة، تساعده في ذلك صديقته سعاد. في هذه الأثناء يستلم عمله الجديد، بصفة رئيس تحرير لمجلة قيد الإنشاء. خلال سيره إلى عمله يمرّ، كل يوم، بثلاث مستخدمات يجلسن أمام محل للألبسة، فيحييهن بإيماءة من رأسه. وبين حينٍ وآخر يرتشف القهوة مع صديقه وائل في مقهى لا يرتاده أحد وعلى وشك الإغلاق. في خلفية هذا الروتين اليومي الرتيب، بطيء الإيقاع، تجري الحياة سريعةً متغيرة في الأسواق والشوارع. بل المدينة كلها تتغير: الأبنية الجديدة تحل محل البيوت القديمة التي هجرها سكّانها؛ المقاهي تقفل أبوابها... كل ما له معنى ويحمل ذكرى أصحابه يتلاشى، لتحل محله قطع حلوى خضراء اللون لا يتناولها أحد.
