له في الرواية "بناية ماتيلد" و"غناء البطريق" و"لعب حيّ البياض" و"ماكياج خفيف لهذه الليلة".
وفي القصّة "تحت شرفة أنجي" و"نزهة الملاك".
ترجمت رواياته إلى الإنكليزية والفرنسية والألمانية والإيطالية.
ولد حسن داوود سنة 1951، وهو يعمل صحفي في اليومية البيروتية "المستقبل"، درس الأدب العربي بالجامعة اللبنانية في بيروت.
ظهرت أوّل رواية له باللغة الفرنسية بعنوان "ضيعة ماتلدا" سنة 1998، وتبعتها رواية ثانية بعنوان "الأيام الأخيرة"، وهي دراسة نفسية عميقة حول الشيخوخة.

كليّة التربية عام 1968. الطلّاب لم يكونوا يعرفون أنّهم في زمن لبنان الجميل، غير أنّهم لا بدّ شعروا بذلك. كان هناك متّسع للّهو في إقامة العلاقات مع البنات وفي الحكي بالسياسة وإطلاق الآراء على سجيّة قائليها. كان الجميع يلعب حتى في ما عُرف بعد ذلك بأنّه ملعب خطر. متسلّلاً كان الخراب يتقدّم، خفيفاً في البداية كما حين أُطلقت الرصاصة على خدّ عبد الهادي ولم تقتله. ثمّ كاسحاً بعد ذلك، في أوقات ما راح أولئك الطلّاب يتساءلون إن كان لهوهم في التظاهرات والجمعيات العمومية يجعلهم مشاركين في الخراب الذي أمسوا من ضحاياه.
