إبراهيم زيدان: أديب لبناني، شقيق المؤرخ والأديب وعالم اللغويات الشهير جرجي زيدان، وُلد إبراهيم حبيب زيدان عام ١٨٧٩م ببيروت ونشأ بها، ثم لحق أخاه إلى القاهرة.
وقد نشر كتبًا مدرسية باسمه، ومن أشهر أعماله المستظرفات من النوادر؛ ﻛ «نوادر الكرام» و«نوادر العشاق» و«النوادر المطربة».
وتوفي إبراهيم زيدان بالقاهرة عام ١٩٥٦م.

يتناولُ هذا الكتاب سمةً من أنبل السمات الأخلاقية عند العرب؛ أَلَا وهي الكرم وذلك باعتبارها صفة فارقةً في نسيج تكوين الشخصية العربية؛ فقد اتصف العرب بهذه الصفة حتى نزلت منهم منزل الشرف، وصارت ميدانَ مُباراةٍ لحصد غنائم الفَخَارِ والمجد. وقد ضمَّ الكتاب بين طياته العديد من نوادر الكرام في الجاهلية والإسلام، ولا سيما نوادر البرامكة ومَن سار على نهجهم في ذلك الكرم كحاتم الطائي. وقد وُفِقَ الكاتب في إجلاء ملامح تلك السمة المؤلِفة لوجهٍ من وجوه الشخصية العربية، حيث ذَيَّلَ كتابه بالعديد من الأمثالِ والحكم والأحاديث النبوية التي تُعَظم من شأن الكرم وَتُنْزله منزلة المروءة الإنسانية، كما استعان بذاكرة التاريخ مبرهنًا على وثاقة اتصال تلك الصفة بالشخصية العربية.
