يسعى هذا الكتاب إلى تطبيق أحد أعتى المناهج النقدية المعاصرة، وهو المنهج السيميائي الذي تقترحه مدرسة باريس، وقد انتخبنا مجموعة من النصوص الشعرية مجالا لذلك بغية تأكيد مدى صلاحية آليات ومستويات هذا المنهج في دراسة الشعر، خصوصا وأن جل ما تم إنجازه فيه نظريا وتطبيقيا ظل متمحورا حول السرد بشكل عام والسرد الخرافي والشعبي منه بشكل خاص. كما يظهر ذلك جليا عند رواده ومؤسسيه في الفكر الفرنسي كجريماس وكورتيس وغيرهما. أو في الفكر العربي كما هو عند عبد الحميد بورايو ومحمد الناصر العجيمي ونادية بوشفرة وغيرهم. وقد عمدنا إلى تطبيق جل آليات ومستويات هذا المنهج أولا على نص شعري كامل سطحا و عمقا، ثم استعنا ثانيا ببعض هذه الآليات فيما تبقى من نصوص في الجوانب التي اقتضت ذلك؛ مختبرين صحة الفرضية السابقة من عدمها، فرأينا من خلال الدراسة المتأنية صلاحية منهج هذه المدرسة لتحليل النص الإبداعي (الفني) عموما، شعرا وسردا، كمنهج في نص متكامل أو كآلية إجرائية مساعدة بجوار آليات ومقترحات مناهج أو نظريات أخرى كالتناص والنسوية.
