يتناول الكتاب المكو ن من ثلاث اجزاء سيرة الملوك الهاشميين الثلاثة الذين حكموا العراق بين عامي 1921 و1958، وهم الملك فيصل الأول، والملك غازي، والملك فيصل الثاني. يستعرض الكتاب الظروف التي رافقت تأسيس الدولة العراقية الحديثة بعد الحرب العالمية الأولى، ودور الملك فيصل الأول في بناء مؤسسات الدولة وإرساء النظام الدستوري، ثم ينتقل إلى عهد الملك غازي، مسلطًا الضوء على توجهاته القومية وعلاقته بالجيش والقوى السياسية، والأحداث التي انتهت بوفاته عام 1939. ويختتم بعهد الملك فيصل الثاني، منذ فترة الوصاية وحتى تسلمه سلطاته الدستورية، مع تحليل السياسات الداخلية والخارجية للمملكة، والأزمات السياسية التي واجهتها، وصولًا إلى ثورة 14 تموز 1958 التي أنهت النظام الملكي في العراق. ويقدم الكتاب قراءة تاريخية للأحداث، معتمداً على الوثائق والمذكرات والشهادات التاريخية، لإبراز تأثير هؤلاء الملوك في تشكيل الدولة العراقية ومسارها السياسي..

37 Years on the Throne of Iraq
This three-part book chronicles the lives of the three Hashemite monarchs who ruled Iraq between 1921 and 1958: King Faisal I, King Ghazi, and King Faisal II. It examines the circumstances surrounding the establishment of the modern Iraqi state following World War I and King Faisal I’s role in building state institutions and laying the foundations of the constitutional system. The book then moves to the reign of King Ghazi, highlighting his nationalist leanings, his relationship with the military and political forces, and the events leading up to his death in 1939. Finally, it covers the reign of King Faisal II—from the regency period to his assumption of full constitutional powers—analyzing the Kingdom’s domestic and foreign policies and the political crises it faced, culminating in the Revolution of July 14, 1958, which brought an end to the Iraqi monarchy. The book offers a historical account based on documents, memoirs, and historical testimonies, illustrating the impact these monarchs had on shaping the Iraqi state and its political trajectory.
The three parts have been consolidated into a single volume.
